    The Carriage by Air Act came into force to give effect to the Convention for the unification of certain rules relating to international carriage by air signed at Warsaw on the 12th of October, 1929 as amended by the 1955 Hague Protocol. The rules in the First Schedule of the Act, deal with the rights and liabilities of carriers, passengers, consignors, consignees and other persons.

    The Act sets out limits of air freight cargo for which a carrier is absolutely liable.
